Viewing E-Mail from Multiple Locations Using Netscape Mail

Open your Netscape Mail program.

At the top of the program window, click on the "Edit" menu, and select "Preferences."

On the left, select "Mail Servers" from the "Mail & Newsgroups" section.

On the right, make sure that your BerkshireNet email account is highlighted, (usually going to be mail.berkshire.net) and click on the "Edit" button.

In the new window that comes up, click on the tab that says "POP"

Click on the box beside "Leave a copy of messages on server." to put a check mark into it. This will allow you to view your e-mail messages from a second location as well. If the box is already checked, leave it alone.

IMPORTANT: In order to avoid exceeding mail storage limits, you may need to un-check this box once every week or two. Click OK to save the setting, and all of your mail stored on our servers will be cleared out. Once this is done, simply click the box again to put a check back into the box, and click OK.

You may also wish to check the second box, "When deleting a message locally, remove it from the server." That way if you delete messages in one location, you won't have to delete them again when you read mail in the secondary location.

If you have been advised by BerkshireNet that your mail is over 20 MB, and you have "Leave messages on server" already checked, then remember to UN-check the box and click OK to clear out your mail from our storage space. It is suggested to leave this un-checked unless you need to access your mail from multiple locations.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thanks
